You state never split 4, 9, or I think you meant never split 4, 5, or 10 which is still an over simplification but far more accurate as 9s are split pretty. Thank you, and to your point…. As for hitting a hard 13 against a 2 or 3, that is not the right move, and indeed you should not be doing it. A 13 against a 2 is close to a wash standing just barely favors the player.
